Most questions are answered below. If yours is not, there are real people at the factory in Mbalala and they would rather talk to you before you buy than after.
Choosing a mattress
How do I know which firmness to choose?
Firm suits back and stomach sleepers, and anyone who wakes with a sore lower back. Soft suits side sleepers, because the shoulder and the hip need somewhere to sink. Medium firm is the middle, and it is the right answer when two people share a bed and disagree. If you are unsure, message us and describe how you actually sleep rather than how you think you should.
What is the difference between a Bonnell spring and a pocket spring?
Bonnell coils are laced together, so the whole mattress moves as one piece and gives a firm, even surface. Pocket springs sit in separate fabric pockets and compress on their own, so movement on one side barely reaches the other. If your partner turns over a lot, that is what you are paying the difference for.
What is the difference between Rosefoam and Ecofoam?
Same factory, same people, same process. Rosefoam is the leading brand and carries the pocket hybrids and the orthopaedic and high density ranges. Ecofoam is the value brand: a simpler build at a lower price. It is not seconds and it is not a different plant.
Can I see and feel one before I buy?
Yes, and you should. A mattress cannot be judged from a photograph. The factory shop at Mbalala has the full range on the floor, and there are depots around the country. Find your nearest one.
Sizes
What sizes do you make?
3 × 6, 4 × 6, 5 × 6 and 6 × 6, which are the sizes Ugandan beds are actually built in. Measure the inside of your frame before ordering, not the old mattress, which may have shrunk or spread.
My bed is not a standard size. Can you still help?
Yes. Custom sizes are made on order. That is most often hostels, hotels and schools, whose frames were welded locally and match no catalogue anywhere. Send us the measurements and we will quote it.
Which thickness should I get?
Thicker is not automatically better. What matters is the density of the foam and what is underneath it. A heavier person on a thin, low density mattress will reach the base; the same person on a high density build will not. Tell us the weight of whoever is sleeping on it and we will point you at the right one.
Delivery and collection
How does delivery work?
Delivery is free countrywide when you pay with Mobile Money, because payment is confirmed before the mattress leaves the plant. If you would rather pay another way, choose collection from your nearest depot at checkout.
How long does it take?
Stocked sizes usually go out quickly. Custom sizes are made on order, so allow longer, and we will tell you how long when we quote. If a date matters, say so when you order and we will be straight with you about whether we can hit it.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Track an order with your reference and the phone number you ordered with. No account needed: the phone number is the identity.
Will you take the old mattress away?
Ask the driver when you book. It depends on the route and what else is on the lorry, so we would rather agree it in advance than promise it here and let you down on the day.
Paying
How can I pay?
Mobile Money on MTN and Airtel, card, or cash on delivery. Mobile Money is the one that unlocks free delivery, for the reason above: the order is confirmed before the lorry moves.
Do you give a better price for bulk?
Yes. Hotels, schools, hostels and resellers get a quoted price rather than the listed one. Request a bulk price with the quantity and sizes you need.
After you buy
What if something is wrong with my mattress?
Call us and keep your order reference to hand. We manufacture what we sell, so there is no importer or middleman to be referred to: it comes back to Mbalala and we deal with it. 0781 096 682.
What does the warranty cover, and for how long?
Warranty terms are being finalised and we would rather say nothing than say the wrong number. Call 0781 096 682 and we will tell you exactly what applies to the mattress you are looking at.
How should I look after it?
Turn it head to foot every few months, and flip it if it is a double sided build. Use a mattress protector: sweat and spills do more damage than weight. Do not fold it, and do not store it on its side for long, because the fillings will settle unevenly.
